Fairy Wrens

Two posts in one day, not sure I can keep this up...

After my sunrise trip there were a few fair wren flitting about in the bushes, my arrival didn't seem to move them on so I tried to get a shot or two of them.  Not award winning but I'm quite chuffed.

Female top, male bottom 24-105mm lens so I had to get quite close and crop these images, when I've got a couple of hours spare I may try to get closer.

The Last Sunrise

 of 2015.

Woke early, saw some sun and interesting clouds and went to chase a sunrise.  Being mid year the sun rose further to the right than I'd allowed for and I ended up in a completely different spot to my normal destinations.  The first from Kalorama Lookout and the second from Hamer Arboretum.

Tidal Beach

Tidal Beach, Wilsons Prom, Victoria.

The sun went down much further to the left of where I'd anticipated earlier in the day but this allowed me to use the islands offshore to hide the sun behind.  The clouds were too low to create a really spectacular sky but at least there was some interest up there in the blue.

Thanks to friends for putting us up (or putting up with us) otherwise I would have left before this scene had developed.

The original should print up to 1500mm if I can ever justify the cost...

A - Absolutely nothing

Failed:  At the final hurdle I bombed out, didn't do it, failed.

However I had a damned good day in the annual treasure hunt with good friends, watched a video with the family, watched the Christmas Dr Who special and packed for an overnight trip to Wilsons Prom.

So a project is a project and life is way more important but there are a few images to share.

B - Beetle

Beetles on a blackberry bloom.

C - Christmas Tree

What else on Christmas eve.  Seasons greetings to all.

D - Dictionary

On numerous occasions during this challenge this very book has been the saviour of my inspiration.  So I pay homage to the Book of Truth...

E - Ear

Ear of grass.  Bit of bokeh from the specular light coming through the bushes in the background.

F - Flower

Flower and fake blood a bit over the top with the processing but it suits the image.

G - Game over

Check mate, focus on the knight doing the business on the king (also in focus) lit from left hand side with reflector on right.  A few spots removed in LR.

H - Halo

I'm no saint for taking this one.  Need a bit more practice, a soft light and a stand to get the flash higher.  A 3 out of 10 for effort.

I - Incense

Topical I suppose, but what would a baby do with this?

J - Joker

Simple solution.

K - Keyhole

Simple subject so a little creativity in lightroom makes this an interesting image possibly a wall hanger...

L - Light painting

Had some fun running around the paddock with an led candle... it's a moon egg.

M - Maneuvers

Tried to get some smoke effects using incense but it didn't quite work, I think the ambient light needs to be lower for that to work

N - Nail

No Jeremy's were hurt in the making of this image...

Don't play with nail guns if you don't know what you're doing.

Playing with home made fake blood is OK though, I was surprised how well it worked, it may well show up in future efforts...

O - Outside

I have to apologise for this one it's not very creative and nearly didn't get this up.

Living a fair way from any body of water and on top of a hill would you expect to find one of these in your yard?

Q - Quill

I hate "Q" really not a nice letter for inspiration.  I was running out of time to do what really wanted to try so for now we'll have to do with a quill.

R - Resistor

Who let the smoke out, it'll never work now.

S - Scores and Shadows

A little clichéd and overused as an image but the first time I have tried this particular formula unfortunately I didn't have a copy of the Wedding March...

T - Three Flames

Nearly pretty enough for a greeting card

U - Underground

This little fellow went hunting underground - not sure he found anything...

V - Vehicle

Was attempting a forced perspective with not much success - need to try harder...

W - Water

Wocks and water, it's been a long time since my last fluffy water shot the wait was good...

X- xylophone

Not really any other options... looking forward to tomorrow.

Y - Yellow Lemons

Not nearly as creative as yesterday and a little pushed for time a moderately contrived still life image today.

Y for Yellow and what better than 5 "Beautiful" Lemons.
